Dr. Lawless is the author of numerous articles in academic journals and the lead author of It Takes a Candidate: Why Women Don’t Run for Office, a public policy report used by EMILY’s list, Emerge, and the Women’s Campaign School at Yale to help promote and recruit women candidates.
Ms. Ross, corporate attorney, practical business lawyer and skilled negotiator, and frequent presenter on corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and business ethics will speak on Ethics in Higher Education.

The theme for this year’s event is Inspiration and Empowerment. The Platinum Sponsor is Fidelity Investments.
This popular conference will feature keynote speakers Michele Peluso, president and CEO of Travelocity; Geraldine A. Ferraro, the first female vice-presidential candidate who is currently a principal in the government relations practice of the national law firm Blank Rome; and Joan Countryman, former head of the Lincoln School in Providence who helped launch Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
The Women’s Summit also featured 19 educational presentations and panels lead by prominent women who are experts and leaders in their field. The sessions are designed to appeal to women at various levels of career development – from new professionals to those in senior executive positions.

2007 Annual RIWHE Conference
Rhode Island's fifth annual conference of Rhode Island Women in Higher Education (RIWHE) was held at Rhode Island College from 12 noon -4 pm on Friday, April 20, 2007.
Some Highlights of Our Conference:
Dr. Sheila Frodermann, Providence Wholistic Healthcare, present one of three seminars offered at the RIWHE spring conference held on April 20 at Rhode Island College’s Alger Hall. While Dr. Frodermann’s complete presentation is not available, several of the materials she shared during her presentation are made available to us through RIHWE’s web site.
